Catch up time... opthamolgist visit

Hey, this was actually today (umm... yesterday, but I haven't slept yet, so it feels like today)!
Jordan went to the ophthalmologist today. Dr. Tien was great, and we liked him. She did need the cyst to be probed, but now there's no more cyst at all. Completely gone! It's amazing to us to see how big a difference it is.

Before: it's the bluish swollen thing just under her right eye

After:

Catch up time -ER and observation

Thursday the 22nd, Jordan ran a little temp and threw up so we called the pedi. We were sent to Hasbro and ended up staying until Saturday afternoon. The ER portion of our trip was horrible and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. They tried 3 times to get spinal fluid from Jordan...3 times!! Yes I said tried, because she didn't give it up - take that docs who think they know everything!
Jordan got out of her ID bracelets (her glow worm wore it), and even took out her own IV catheter. That's our girl!
Bottom line, she doesn't have meningitis and we got to come home. We are so happy to be home!

catch up time... Jordan's 1 month -January 18th

Jordan's 1 month old! January 18th

She's doing so much every day. She's smiling now, standing as much as she can, looking around and taking everything in, and making all sorts of sounds now - it's amazing what a difference a day or 2 makes! At her 1 month well she was 22 inches long and weighed 10 pounds 13 ounces - way to grow monster baby, way.to.grow!

Coop's birthday & Jordy's 4 week appointment were both yesterday

I'll start with Cooper...
My baby is 2!! Can you believe that?!? My furry little puppy turned 2 years old yesterday. He got an apple for a gift, he llllloooooovvvveeeessss apples! He's still doing amazingly well with the baby. I put her carseat on the floor yesterday, without her in it, and he looked for her. He was visibly upset when she wasn't in it. Coop started to whimper and then layed down staring at the seat until she finally cried in her crib. He jumped up, jumped on me and then ran full speed into Jordy's room.

They really are good together.

On to Jordan's 1 month check-up. Well, my giant baby did not disappoint. She weighed in at 10 pounds 13 ounces, but is still measuring around 21 inches long. She's still got her cold, and turns out I was right about the eczema (imagination that!) and switching her formula (woot! I'm on a roll) - otherwise she's perfect!
She's trying her hardest to find and suck her thumbs, about a 50% success rate, and is cooing more everyday, mostly in response to Cooper. She's also decided she likes being on her side...only we don't put her there, she does a little 1/2 roll to get there herself, she's just that strong.

in her crib

That's where Jordy slept last night. It rocked. She didn't sleep through the night (not that I expected her to), but she did sleep soundly and went right back to sleep after feedings/diaper changes. I think she'll be trying it again tonight. Let's see how this goes - I really expected to keep her in the pack and play a while longer, but if she's happier in the crib, so be it.

Jordy-Belle has a cold...

The poor baby. I wish there was something we could do for her, but I guess I'll just have to learn to accept I can't make everything alright in her life. I thought I had learned this already, but since getting her home I must have forgotten it.

On the plus side, Coop is great with her. He is her little guard dog and is always around. One of his beds is in her bedroom now (since we never moved it back into the living room), and he sleeps in there a lot - no more having to sit in the middle of the floor to supervise diaper changes for him!

A note from Nick:
It's great to have her home. The sleepless nights are worth it. You change when you become a parent. You see more "out side of the box" and don't think about yourself as much. It's all about her now, and she's not afraid to let you know it!
